It virtually eliminates trial and error in the programming of inspection machines.

Probe CAD enables you to generate complex inspection programs for machines and perform quick and accurate analysis by comparing inspected data with specified design features and tolerances. The software uses nominal CAD geometry to generate, optimize and verify off-line inspection programs for CMMs and NC machine tools. Probe CAD enables you to interpret component and assembly tolerances defined by engineering that can be used during programming for the identification of critical features and analysis of inspection results.

CAD-Based Programming

Probe CAD enables you to use nominal CAD geometry in order to generate, optimize and verify off-line inspection programs for CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines) and NC machine tools. You can program NC machine tools to perform complex CMM applications. Programming is displayed in real-time 3D graphics, enabling you to quickly review and modify probing sequences and angle changes prior to running the inspection. Probe CAD enables you to generate complete, verified and collision-free programs.

CAD Embedded Capabilities

All Tecnomatix Quality Solution information is stored within the CAD part model, thus eliminating troublesome translations and duplications commonly found in other systems. CAD native features and tolerances can also be used directly. You can quickly generate inspection programs and fully analyze these features and tolerances against the measured data. Information can be automatically updated to accommodate changes.

DMIS Output

Probe CAD enables you to generate inspection programs in a DMIS format. No prior experience with DMIS programming language is required, as Probe CAD automatically generates the DMIS output. DMIS programs can be sent directly to the CMM or NC machine, or sent to Measure for execution.

Analyze Inspected Data

Probe CAD enables you to perform quick and accurate analysis by comparing inspected data with specified design tolerances (supporting ANSI, ASME and ISO standards). The program consistently interprets and analyzes measured data, regardless of the inspection device that collected it. You can closely monitor tolerance conditions by displaying analysis results on the screen. Optional analysis modes and the ability to "float" measured data when fitting it to the nominal CAD model significantly increase the ability to evaluate the potential for rework. This capability is available in the full-featured Probe CAD only.

Assisted Program Generation

Probe CAD virtually eliminates trial and error while programming inspection machines. User-specified path defaults, automatic approach/retract along the CAD surface normal, a selected machine axis or a specified vector, and automatic safe points for entering/exiting holes and on safe planes are a few of the many functions provided to assist in program generation. Use Probe CAD off line to generate and verify inspection programs in a fraction of the time required to create them manually.

Easy to Learn and Use

Probe CAD is fully embedded within the major CAD/CAM systems that provide you with the same CAD user interface. This familiar CAD "look and feel" environment makes Probe CAD very easy to learn and use.

DMIS inspection programs generated by Probe CAD can be executed directly by Measure.

Inspected data can be viewed through Web-enabled interfaces, such as Insight, or sent back to the design engineers for comparison to the original CAD model using Qualify.
