Turning in NX CAM can use either 2D part profiles or full solid models. It includes routines for roughing, multiple-pass finishing, grooving, thread cutting and centerline drilling. Programmers specify parameters such as feedrate, spindle speed and part clearance. NX CAM Turning also enables A and B-axis tool control.

In addition to broad functionality for common tasks, a special “teach mode” capability provides extra user control for fine finishing and special cutting situations. Turning in NX CAM is very flexible and allows programming in XY or ZX environments for horizontal, vertical or inverted vertical orientations.

NX CAM Turning automatically generates the correct profile for working on even tricky mill-turn parts. The in-process workpiece moves easily between milling and turning.

NX Advantages:

a

  • Process automation, use of the in-process-work piece and intelligent toolpaths simplify the NC programming process thus reducing lead-times and improving quality.
  • Graphical programming of lathe tools in the NX environment makes error checking easier and less time consuming, improving engineering throughput and reducing scrap rates.
