NX drafting software delivers a comprehensive set of automated CAD tools for production and management of engineering and technical drawings. Seamless integration with other NX solutions enables engineers to create and maintain standards-compliant engineering drawings. An intuitive, workflow-oriented interface allows the user to efficiently create high-quality, fully compliant detail and assembly drawings.

NX drafting provides exceptional speed and accuracy for detailing a solid model, and ensures consistency with the related detail and assembly drawings. Associative dimensions ensure that design engineering changes can be processed in the drafting environment or directly from the model. Drawing views are automatically updated and rendered to reflect changes. This enables engineering disciplines to release error-free detail and assembly drawings into production environments.

Drawing View Creation

• Provides automatic and associative multi-view projection, alignment and scaling of orthographic, auxiliary, detail and sectional views based on either first or third-angle projection methods
• Automatically generates and renders axonometric projections for pictorial drawing view applications
• Allows the user to create associative section lines with related sectional views per ANSI and ISO standards. Supported sectional view conventions include full, offset, half, aligned, revolved, removed and auxiliary.
• Automatically generates sectional view crosshatching based on either standard material designations (ANSI and ISO) or user-defined patterns
• Recognizes, displays and renders threaded features on the drawing views per ANSI and ISO standards
• Supports conventional representations for assembly drawing view applications, such as non-sectioned item display in related sectional views
• Automatically creates and renders exploded pictorial drawing views of assembly models

Drawing annotation

• Automatically inherits or dynamically creates both unidirectional and ordinate dimensions per ANSI, ISO and DIN standards
• Creates, edits and validates Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) callouts, per ANSI and ISO standards.
• Provides a graphical text editor with quick access to a library of standard and user-defined symbols, GD&T callouts and associative text
• Provides fully associative utility symbols including linear, circular and symmetrical centerlines, intersections, full and partial bolt circles, assembly drawing item balloons and leaders
• Automatically generates associative parts lists for assembly drawing applications
• Provides fully associative notes, labels, dimensions, ID symbols and GD&T symbols through the reference of design expressions and attributes

Ease of use

• Allows the user to establish system-wide default drafting parameters and settings, as well as customize, create and utilize user-defined icons and dialogs
• Supports creation and customization of drawing templates for drag-and-drop creation of drawings
